Alright. Hopefully this will be helpful; I'm not the best at critiquing or even writing, really... But here goes. The concept behind this seems fairly solid, and while the pose could use some improvement *which I will mention later), I can get an actual personality drawn from the combination of the colors and the clothing. From this picture, I can see him being a sort of "sporty" type, or, if you're into ponies, he might fit best with Rainbow Dash personality-wise, just based off what I'm seeing currently. The scheme you used works well, too; it draws you in with its bold colors and use of red.

Now on to improvements. My highest recommendation is to study skeletons and some basic foreshortening. Not only will it help you with things like hands (which are a b*tch to draw; I doubt anyone enjoys drawing them), but it will help you with more dynamic poses and even how clothes wrinkle with each new position. There are a lot of tutorials already on dA and even a quick Google search has some awesome sites dedicated to help you get started. My first tutorial was on the Polykarbon site -->www.polykarbon.com/tutorials/ It helped a lot when I was first starting out. Another good person who teaches you step-by-step while putting it in a language even beginners can understand is FOERVRAENGD --> foervraengd.deviantart.com/art… but I would probably recommend sticking with Polykarbon until you're more comfortable with them first.

In summary, keep doing what you're doing. I honestly think you're doing well on improvement. I hope this was helpful, and can't wait to see more from you! :3
